While ferry rides on Lake Como are scenic, they are not quite as exhilarating as a waterski or wakeboard adventure on the lake. Few experiences top the thrill of speeding across the lake past billionaire villas and old lakeside villages. The Centro Sci Nautico Como (Como Waterski Center) is ideally situated for watersport excursions. Located on the Cernobbio waterfront in between the Villa d'Este and Versacci's villa, here one may waterski, wakeboard, barefoot, and knee-board on the lake, then relax and sunbathe on the Center's deck. The staff is very friendly and can assist those learning a specific watersport, in English or several other languages. The Center has canoes for rental and can provide guided canoe tours of the lake. They also offer guided mountain biking and rock climbing outings in the hills above Cernobbio. The center is very popular with Italians (though has not yet been discovered by foreign tourists) - reservations during a summer weekend are recommended.
