Lampedusa belongs to the province of Agrigento, much closer to Tunisia than to
Sicily. It measures 20 sq. km. and is bordered by 26 km. of coastline. There is one
village. It can be reached by air from Palermo or by boat or hydrofoil from Porto
Empedocle (Agrigento).
