City of art, culture and sea, Ravenna has
a great deal to offer visitors. The coastline of the "Byzantine
city " runs along in perfect harmony, changing alternating between
seaside, pines and valleys, providing a a special kind of ambiance
supported by hospitable accomodations, clean and inviting beaches,
and the magnificent pines which so inspired by Dante and Byron.

Much loved also by Oscar Wilde, Jung and Klimt, Ravenna has
always been characterized by a cultivated quality, a qualtiy
perhaps born of the ancient treasures and intense sense of history
inherent in its historic center. The Byzantine mosaics preserved
wothin its monuments and churches have been acknowledged by
UNESCO as a world cultural endowment. An intiative entitled
Mosaico di Notte makes it possible to contemplate the splendor
of the mosaics also at night: each summer from June to September,
Ravenna's principle monumnets such as the Basilica di San Vitale,
the Mausoleo di Galla Placidia, the Museo Nazionale, la Tomba
di Dante, i Giardini Pensili del Palazzo della Provincia and
the Civic Art Gallery are open to the public until late at night.
