Located south of the Gulf of Naples, the Isle of Capri is a gem of an island, peopled by sunny and uncomplicated folk. It could be said that it embodies indeed all that is enticing and charming of Italy's tiny islands.

faraglioniCapri surface area comprises 10.36 kmē, most of which is taken up by the 589 meter high Monte Solaro. The island's coastal rim is therefore all the more inaccessible, as steep slopes jut up from the shoreline all along the 17 km perimeter, dotted with more than 65 grottos and countless bizarre rock formations. The favorable climate which has inspired so many visitors, has also encouraged the cultivation of citrus and wine grapes. Also in abundance are typical Mediterranean plants such as juniper, holm-oak, heather, gorse and myrtle. The island's well-deserved fame is also to be accredited to the presence of the fashionable and the intellectual, who can be seen gathering in the small and very lovely Piazzetta di Capri.

The view enjoyed from the Belvedere is stunning, as one looks down on the geometric shapes of little white clay houses, countless roof terraces and torturously winding roads all encircled by a deep blue sea. The island's center is situated between S. Michele and the Castiglione. The spot is a heady mixture of the ancient and the modern, where local artistry coexists with high fashion and corner shops proffer age-old spices under the gaze of luxurious villas belonging to the most current crop of stars and jet-setters.
