Very beautiful city, crossed by the river Brenta. Famous for its home-made
ceramics and its "grappa", a typical liqueur. Small and characteristic medieval town which still nowadays preserves
the castle's square walls, surrounded by the moat, which enclose the
old historical center. The great Italian painter Giorgione was born
here. One of the most prestigious ski resorts in the Dolomites. It offers
an amazing mountain scenery and summer hikes with wonderful views. Very
well patronized. Lake Garda, named also Benaco, is the largest Italian lake: its origin is glacial and it fills a long and wide gully amidst Lombardia, Veneto and Trentino. The beauty of its landscape, extremely varied, is the result of clear waters, lush vegetation and an extraordinarily mild climate. The same mixture seems to be also the cause of the extremely high lifespan of its locals. The most important tourist resorts are: Sal, Gardone Riviera, Bardolino, Sirmione, Peschiera and Desenzano. by a fertile and intensely cultivated countryside. Owing to the special
features of the land, Polesine offers tourists an extraordinary variety
of choices: from art itineraries to stays in the very well-equipped
sea resorts Rosolina Mare and the isle of Albarella, to nature-oriented
holiday. If you opt for this kind of holiday it is possible to meander
by boat among the reed thickets and the canals of the delta and get
to sudden and unspoiled small beaches with very white sand. Or else,
you can get attracted by a photo-safari which, because of abundant and
rare wild birds, is meant to be rich and interesting. Beautiful Veneto town of medieval aspect with porticoed lanes, beautiful
