Sardegna

Cagliari

The "city of the sun", lying on its wonderful gulf, sums up all the history and traditions of Sardinia, by being its capital.  The historical districts, clustered around the old Aragonese fortress, maintain the original medieval aspect and allow panoramic views of rare beauty on the city and its very lively port.
A great number of folk, sports and cultural events; the museums, especially the archeological one; the large beach of Poetto, one of the most beautiful in Sardinia; the tourist harbor, among the most important in Italy for sailing; and an extraordinarily mild climate all over the year, make Cagliari one of the most attractive and interesting towns in Italy.

Cagliari City Guide

Costa Smeralda

The Emerald Coast: tourism for millionaires and a transparent sea, loved by Fiat's Giovanni Agnelli, the Aga Khan and other VIPs.
Portorotondo is best for people-watching. A small burg, surrounded by gorgeous villas, and centered around the famous Piazzetta: luxury goods stores and open-air cafès.
Porto Cervo can easily boast to be equal only to Portofino (in Liguria) for the luxury and size of the boats docked in its ultramodern, ultraexpensive tourist port.

Maddalena Archipelago

Situated to the north of Sardinia, the archipelago is made up by seven islands and a lot of islets. Indented coasts, small beaches, and an always windy climate create a fascinating scenery, and heaven for sailing and water sports entusiasts. One of the few areas in Italy well equipped for sailboat.

Italy's Island Paradise

San Giovanni di Sinis

Underwater caves, pink flamingoes and fantastic island cuisine; less expensive than the east of Sardinia, but no less intriguing

Villasimius

Forte Village Resort: many little private bungalows hidden in the thick of a tropical forest by the sea: the hospitality makes you feel right at home; international environment.
