Cocktails, lunch and dinner are served under the dark marble arches of its famed lobby, which resembles an ancient venetian-style court. Hotel Europa e Regina San Marco 2159 Tel. 041-5200477, Fax 041-5231533 With an ample terrace facing onto the Canal Grande, this hotel is comprised of 5 antique buildings, all recently renovated by Sheraton Hotels. Hotel Bauer San Marco 1459 (Campo di San Moisč) Tel: 041-5207022, Fax: 041-5207557 The hotel, recently awarded five stars, is a traditional hotel of the "old school" situated at the entrance to the San Marco's, with a view of the Punta Dogana and the Chiesa della Salute. Hotel Luna Baglioni Calle Larga dell'Ascensione (San Marco pier) Tel: 041-5289840, Fax: 041-5287160 In the immediate vicinity of San Marco's, this is one of the oldest hotels in the city (the original structure dates back to 1118). Though the building has been remodelled and extended many times, its marvellous frescoes done by students of the school of Tiepolo, have been preserved. Pensione Accademia "Villa Maravege" Dorsoduro 1058 tel. 041-5237846, fax 041-5239152 "Maravegia" - in Veneto this means marvelous, an appropriate name for this charming little hotel near the Accademia di Belle Arti. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar; its romantic terrace hung with wisteria. Some of the rooms are furnished with 19th century period pieces, while others are more modern.
