This course, situated on the sandy island of Lido di Venezia, is true to its name, alberoni, which
indicates a forested area: the fairways are indeed bordered by aged trees whose vast foliage
complicates a golfer's life and interferes with his drive. Hole 9 is a completely blind
par 3 - the only one in Europe- often complicated by a strong wind. But all in all, the place is
enchanting. So much so, in fact, that 70 years ago, Henry Ford was moved to make it one of the
first courses in Italy.
