Evening: Arrival at Pisa's Calamidoro Hotel****

The Hotel Calamidoro is located in Calcinaia, in the province of Pisa, housed in a lovely old Tuscan castle which has been completely renovated and fitted with every imaginable extra: driving range, tennis courts, three pools, restaurants, disco, etc.
The lovely estate surrounding the hotel is right and the heart of Tuscany, land of poets and artists. Inspirational landscapes stimulate the senses at every turn and the atmosphere is as unique as it is inspirational.
Time seems to have stood still; the interior of the hotel is invites arrivals to enter another world, a world warm and gracious. The décor is impeccable, lavishly finished in wood, pastel tones and antiques furnishings.

Guests are accommodated in one of 70 rooms, which are actually more than a bed for the night! The door opens into a little apartment, enchanting and well appointed.
The hotel offers a beautiful conference room for meetings or smaller celebrations, while the nearby Centro Torretta White provides entertainment, music and plenty of Tuscan charm.

Our first dinner proved to be a most pleasant encounter with the local culinary landscape: garden vegetables arrived fresh from the grill, followed by strips of flank steak, fruits and ice cream.
The food in Tuscany would continue to be one the most delightful aspects of our entire journey!
