One of the most-visited natural tourist attractions in the world,
the Lago di Garda, with its crystalline waters and typically Mediterranean
vegetation, is Italy's largest lake (52 km long). This Dolcevita
spotlight focuses on a few of the most interesting locales along
Garda's southern shoreline between Gardone Riviera to the west and
San Vigilio to the east. Also worth a visit are the inland areas
and surrounding hills, where optimum wines and olive oil
are produced. Many vineyards are open to the public and offer wine-tastings
in antique villas or farmhouses which have been transformed
into charming and inviting facilities. The region is attractive
not only in summer, as a matter of fact, visitors in the spring
or fall may be glad to miss the summer hordes!
