Benedictine monastery set in the deep azure blue of the sea and the particular
green of the Mediterranean shrubbery along the Portofino promontory. Experience with us the thousand years of history emanating from this site, restored to its original beauty by the Italian environmental organization FAI (Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano). It is one of the most important foundations of its kind in Italy whose primary goals are environmental protection and the conservation of the national heritage. FAI works to restore to the world that marvellous "slice" of Italy which has long remained unrecognized and inaccessible. Under FAI's ministrations, an important assemblage of castles, palazzi, monasteries, residences and their priceless furnishings have been given new life and assured of a future.
