Walking tour of L'Urbe

A chance to stroll through the streets of Rome on a warm spring night. The beautiful 16th century Via Giulia is one of the most famous streets in the world. It is lined with palazzi, antique shops and art galleries. The Palazzo Farnese and the picturesque piazza Campo dei Fiori grace the end of the elegant boulevard. This is the perfect spot for an outdoor lunch or dinner. Not far away is the Monserrato restaurant (Tel: +39-6-687 33 86) where you're sure to be delighted by the typically Roman cuisine.
You can reach the famed Piazza Navona and its Baroque Bernini fountains in just 5 minutes. In summer, the piazza is alive with portraiteurs and street artists of every sort. If you happen upon the piazza at cocktail hour, be sure to treat yourself to a nice glass of wine at the enoteca Cul de Sac (tables outside), just steps away, on the Piazza Pasquino 73 (Tel: +39-6-68801094) .

Outdoor seating on the Piazza S.Maria in Trastevere, directly in front of the celebrated church, is provided by Sabatini's (Tel: +39-6-581 20 26). More popular, perhaps, is the Trattoria da Lucia (Vicolo del Mattonato 2 Tel: +39-6-580 36 01), featuring continuous outdoor service and Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, specialty of the house.
