Moving on completely different turf, Alberto Biani, has until recently been the designer behind the women's New York Industrie label produced by Staff International, founded by Biani some years ago. New York Industrie has now been abandoned by its creator; as of last year, the Venetian designer has dedicated himself completely to the collection bearing his name. Essential, even a bit minimalist in it's styling, Biani's cleanly-tailored suits seem to have been taken off the men's racks-- and yet, it's all been completely adapted to conform to a female body and feminine gait. Biani's latest collection is more than the androgynous look which has become his trademark. He has also come up with some really lovely festive frocks that seem straight from the prom.
