Preview Fall/Winter 98/99:

Color: a season in Grays and Black

The season heralds a flurry of slip-dresses in satin, organza and lattice work. Nearly all the designers feature doubled sheaths or dresses covered with tulle (nearly always black) which lends a vaguely veiled and decidedly mysterious aire to the pieces. A sense of lightness and volume all at once.

Etro:
"It's a season of greys and silver; of every possible combination thereof... graphite, gleaming steel, iron". Etro's colors are smokey and steamy, permeating the entire collection with a strong urban feel. Velvet has been cast aside as well as the majority of jackets. Wool shares center stage this season with petal-soft knitwear, flannels and satins.

Giorgio Armani:
"Streamlined jackets over long dresses or with long, flowing pants. The jackets lengthen into coats or raincoats. Colors: grey, slate black as well as dusty rose, steely blue and the ever-present red." Armani knitted tops and are light and clinging or sublimely thin, all combined with satin and organza.

Laura Biagiotti:
True to her own tradition; the colors here are beige, cream and marron glacé, interpreted in cashmere coats, blazers and tunic-dresses.
