Moda Donna is without a doubt the women's fashion event of every season.
The recent unveiling of the coming season's fashions opened with presentations
by designers Luciano Soprani and Alviero Martini.
The former demonstrated a strong preference for "op-art"
patterned suits, while the latter clearly culled his inspiration from
the vibrant colors of Brazil.
The Spring
/ Summer cast of all-stars signals the return of Modena label Clips,
an original house marked this season by unusual combinations such
as the tailored blazer paired with sequin-spangled microshorts.
Star player on day two was clearly designer Laura Biagiotti
with her "Rose-colored Amazon": a tribute to straightforward
femininity which refuses to give up that touch of romanticism. The
primary color on this palette is bronze, cleverly combined with knits
and denim alike.
Shoes
are always a highlight of any show; 2002 it seems, is to be plagued
by the continued presence of dangerously high, spiky heels in both
minimalist and elaborate versions with ankle laces and precious stones.
Prime examples carry Diego Dolcini's label, a favorite of Nicole
Kidman and other divas.
