Young Italian designers power the field with the freshest, most brilliant ideas on the industrial design scene. Creativity applied to objects which are essentially tools has been a constant element in the history of art. The events supporting programs have served as a launching pad for many independent producers, along with foreign as well as Italian manufacturers.

U-vola Alessandro Copetti is a young designer working out of Udine. The collection he presented at the fair indicates a fresh approach. His suspended speakers, in particular, made quite an impression. The name is "U-vola" (the flying egg).
fruit basket The collection designed by Massimo Rasero, Turinese architect and designer, presented a several innovations for domestic decor utilizing a couple of small objects that have, until now, have served one purpose and one purpose alone: light bulbs and film roll containers..... Born of this eclectic pairing are a fruit bowl of light bulbs, a charming little photo-frame, letter holder and pencil case.
Mina

Study by Gum Design, a group of seven individuals active in the fields of design, architecture, graphics and publishing characterized by elasticity and dynamism. They were represented at the Salone by a series of extremely colorful and ironic products, which reflect the incredible, and very Italian creativity of this team. Highlights of the series are the vase, Mina, the cover-handle, Atù or Moon-nezza, the illuminated ashtray.
