International Furniture and Home Decorating Accessories Fair:
40th International Salone Internazionale del Mobile e Salone del Complemento d'Arredo 2001

Back in 1961, 328 exhibitors participated in the very first Salone del Mobile, now in its 40th year.
The 60's marked a boom in economic growth in Italy, but the Italian furniture industry was still a long way from its present leading role on the international market and was as yet unable to compete abroad.
The 2001 furniture fair tells a different tale: the number of participating exhibitors had grown to 1,605, of which 1,345 are Italian.

One popular focal point of the event is the innovative "home of tomorrow", fully equipped with furniture and accessories responding to the needs of everyday life, on display April 4-9 in Milan, in co-ordination with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Euroluce, the Salone del Complemento d'Arredo and the Salone Satellite.

Faithful participants ever since 1961, several exhibitors have celebrated their 40 years of "active duty" with impressive new projects. Among these are such illustrious names as Arc Linea Arredamenti, Pierantonio Bonacina, Federlegno-Arredo, Flexform and Molteni & C. E Rossi di Albizzate.

Dolcevita visited the Salone del Mobile 2001 and is pleased to present a selection of the most representative products and manufacturers exhibited.
