This town in the province of Cuneo, at the center of the Langhe region famous for its wines and truffles, has managed to preserve its ancient city center. Its towers, monuments and churches date back to medieval times. Following the main roads, Via Cavour and Via Vittorio Emanuele, travelers will be unable to resist the shops and their delicious wares. An added plus--the route winds past such antique structures as the 15th-century cathedral dome, the parochial church of San Giovanni Battista and the Gothic church of San Domenico. Certainly most beautiful, however, is the surrounding landscape with its gently rolling hills laced with vineyards (see the related DolceVita article).
