It's a well-known fact that the Italians have an exquisite cuisine which varies wondrously from region to region far beyond the internationally recognized pizza, spaghetti and ice cream. Yes, Italians love to eat, but they also love to drink -- in moderation it must be said, and with attention to quality! If the world has discovered the exquisite Italian wines, perhaps only a few are as yet aware of the other, more potent alcoholic beverages with which Italians anticipate, accompany or prolong a fine dining experience.
