 Acquavite di vinaccia (aka grappa/schnaps)The acquaviti di vinaccia are alcoholic beverages with a very high alcohol content which are obtained by distilling the dregs (politely known as marc or must) which remain when grapes have been pressed for wine. Celebrated are those of Piemonte - Veneto (the widespread 'Grappa Nardini', made in "Bassano del Grappa" near Vicenza), but other zones in northern Italy are much-appreciated (the grappas of Trentino or Friuli ,Venezia, Giulia). Remarkable also, FiluFerru, produced in Sardegna.
