Bottled sauce
A lot of people probably couldn't tell the difference between bottled tomato sauce and a bottle of ketchup. The bottles reminds me of the late summers of my childhood where the enormous canning kettles stood in the yard with hermetically sealed jars bobbing around inside. And of my aunts who chased us kids away. The bottled sauce isn't all that bad in itself . It's the people using it who perpetrate the gastronomic crimes against humanity by maniacally "pepping" it up with oil and scorched bits of garlic. To restore to bottled sauce some of its original appeal, use it in a crema di pomodoro, possible even without a mixer.
