CUISINE
![]()
![]() Real Pizza: a real surprise Travellers are advised to take up the knife and fork well in advance of their departure and practice eating pizza with them. This way, you will also be able to actually consume a pizza without getting half of it down your front. Typically, Italian pizzas are very thin (in some cases as thin as a Mexican tortilla) which makes them difficult to eat by hand. They are also very large which, again, calls for the knife and fork. Being extremely large and extremely thin, the pizzas tend to get cold and, well... extremely soggy in the middle. This saturated bit at the center defies both cutlery and desperate efforts with the fingers, but never mind... By this time you will have had quite enough anyway. Next time, order the flaky, golden focaccia formaggio. You can even eat it with your fingers when the waiter's back is turned.
