Granita al porto con melone
Preparation: 20 minutes + chilling
Ingredients:
(serves 6)
9 oz. red Port
1.5 oz. sugar
Melon balls carved from 1 - 2 Honeydews or 3 small melons
To Prepare:
In a saucepan, melt the sugar into the Port; tranfer the liquid to a
large container and freeze for three hours, stirring intermittently
to keep the mixture from solidifying. What you'll end up with is an
icy, almost creamy substance a lot like a Slurpy! It's a real Italian
ice -- a granita! To serve, scoop granita onto a bed of melon balls.
Serve immediately.
