Oregano grows primarily in wild scrub areas throughout
Italy and the islands, and can be found as high up as 2000 m
above sea level in sunny, grassy glades. The herb has curative
properties as a sedative, antispasmodic and antiseptic (respiratory
system) but is most famous, of course, for its role in the Italian
cuisine. Just imagine a pizza without it! Its strong and penetrating
character fortifies salads and mozzarella-based dishes.
